American Academy of Environmental Medicine

aaemThe American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) is an international association of physicians and other professionals interested in the clinical aspects of humans and their environment. Founded over a half century ago, in 1965, and accredited to provide continuing medical education for physicians, the AAEM provides research and education in the recognition, treatment and prevention of illnesses induced by exposures to biological and chemical agents encountered in air, food and water.

In 2008, AAEM commended Manhattan Neighbors’ founder, Camilla Rees and Magda Havas, PhD, on their publication of “Public Health SOS: The Shadow Side of the Wireless Revolution”, and since that time has taken a stand on EMF issues, including speaking up on wireless risks to children in schools, and on risks from radiating ‘smart’ (i.e. not so smart) utility meters. The founders and members of AAEM have a long history of being first to describe or acknowledge environmental hazards and effective and innovative approaches to their treatment.
