Harsh New Critique of WHO’s Silence on Wireless Harm

As the name ‘world health organization’ implies, the World Health Organization is supposed to be concerned with world health. But with regard to cell phone and wireless technologies, WHO has turned a blind eye to risks well acknowledged by its own International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). IARC classified the radiation emitted by cell phones and all wireless technologies as a Group 2B Possible Carcinogen in May 2011, based largely on the mounting evidence for risk for brain tumors from using cell phones. The radiation’s biological effects were acknowledged, and radiation emitted from all wireless devices and infrastructure was included in the classification.

The International EMF Scientist Appeal to the U.N. in 2015 (www.EMFScientist.org) was one effort to appeal to the WHO’s parent to take action to protect the world’s population from this radiation. Over 200 scientists have signed this appeal, but thus far, no response has been received from the United Nations.

Recently, in what looks like an effort to discredit IARC due to its positions on the weed killer glyphosate, as well as cell phone radiation, Rep, Chaffetz (R-UT), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has called for an investigation of NIH’s funding of IARC, on the grounds that IARC’s decisions, by scientists without industry conflicts of interest, are ‘controversial’ and not in line with other science. Chaffetz accuses IARC of having a “record of controversy, retractions, and inconsistencies” and has asked NIH to explain why taxpayers continue to support the ‘flawed agency’.  Many scientists consider this a witch hunt to support the interests of Montsanto, and wireless companies, possibly even initiated at the parent level of WHO. http://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/12/reuters-america-exclusive-us-congressional-committee-demands-answers-on-who-cancer-agency.html
