Help Yourself 1st – Safety Basics from ManhattanNeighbors.org
•Use Landline Phones as much as possible
•Cell Phones – use only with speaker or wired headset and briefly (not for long calls)
•Never Put Cell Phone in Pockets while ON
•Develop Habit of Forwarding Cell Phone to Landline Phones
•Home Portable Phones – use for Special Circumstances Only, otherwise unplug
•Hard Wire Internet Connections with cable/fiber (and VIP disable default WiFi setting). Double check modems/routers with meter to be certain wireless is off
•If you have WiFi, Use a Plant Light Timer to turn off WiFi over night, while you prepare to hard wire your internet connection.
•Use Hard-Wired Computer Peripherals only (mice, printer etc.)
•Use Grounded power cords, or get a USB to ground cord for your computer
•Use Earthing at your desk so your arm touches it, discharging electric fields (check your outlet is properly grounded first)
•Do not put RF boosters on your house, building or in your apartment.
•Assess the neighborhood with www.AntennaSearch.com
•Assess your neighbors RF emissions with an RF meter
•Be aware of Stealth Antennas as an RF source (in chimneys, clock towers, steeples, in and on buildings, near subways, etc.)
•Be aware of RF radiation coming from below your apartment, from neighbors or from shops. Work/Live buildings, or low floors in buildings with shops and/or offices at ground level are not recommended. In these cases, please consider a bed tent
•Are you near a utility smart meter, or smart meter panel? Check if hard-wired or radiating. Move if near a panel of radiating meters, and take aggressive steps to shield until the meter reads -0- otherwise.
•Consider moving if shielding from neighbors’ RF is not possible, or too expensive. Consult a Building-Biologist™ (www.hbelc.org). Always check RF levels periodically to see if anything has changed, from new sources of RF in the neighborhood, new neighbors with radiating devices, etc.
•Use your meter in any parks or open spaces where you spend time and find the lowest exposure areas.
•Avoid cell phones and other RF devices in your car due to amplifying reflections that occur. Keep them OFF.
•Avoid Compact Fluorescent Bulbs and LEDs (unless free of Dirty Electricity)
•PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN WELL…minimize all exposures to children, toddlers and pregnant women!
•Start By Getting an RF Meter—there is no place for guesswork here. Accurate measurements, and measurements after any mitigation steps taken, are truly essential to guide you so you do not make things worse in the process of trying to lessen exposures. (RF Meters)
